£20 per person, includes all materials and lunch / refreshments.
Join us for a hands on day of conservation as we clean the historic St Peter’s bibles ready for a small exhibition celebrating Sudbury Arts Centre’s former life as St Peter’s church.
We’re pleased to welcome Juliane Castle, lead conservator at Castle Conservation, who will guide you through the careful process of a gentle conservation clean on some of our treasured archival books.
Juliane brings a wealth of experience to the session. She is a member of the National Collections Care Training Team for the National Trust and serves as a conservation advisor for major film and television productions, including Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, and Doctor Who.
Each participant will have the unique opportunity to work directly on one of our historic, long-unopened volumes, learning hands-on techniques under Juliane’s expert instruction and attentive supervision.
This is a rare chance to engage with conservation work up close—and help care for the stories that history has left in our hands.
