Date:

July 29, 2024

Time:

2.30pm

A free concert but tickets must be booked in advance on the link or by visiting the arts centre, or emailing info@sudburyartscentre.com

Participants from The Bridge Project, DeCafé and Chilton Court, St Joseph’s and Mellish House residential homes have been working with a Sinfonia Viva creative team and locally based musicians to create new songs and music celebrating where they live, and are coming together for the first time to share an exciting performance at Sudbury Arts Centre.

These new creations will be interspersed with well-known orchestral pieces performed by Sinfonia Viva. They will include the spirited overture to Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, the pastoral “Love Bade Me Welcome” by Vaughan Williams featuring baritone Bob Davies, and the jazz-infused Libertango by Piazzolla. There’ll also be the opportunity for everyone to join in with Billy Taylor’s classic I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free.

Sudbury Sounds is a creative community programme co-produced by The Bridge Project, Sinfonia Viva, Orchestras Live, Sudbury Arts Centre, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils
