Andy Riley & Friends – Spoken Word/Comedy

The return of the incredibly well-received Andy Riley to Sudbury Arts Centre! He has in tow, three of the very best Suffolk/Essex poets on the scene at the moment…guaranteed to make you think, feel…and mostly, laugh like a drain.

Andy Riley
Andy Riley is hilarious! He’s written for a whole host of comedy shows, including Big Train, Smack The Pony, Armstrong and Miller, Black Books, Spitting Image, The Armando Iannucci Show, Veep, Trigger Happy TV, Year of the Rabbit etc.
He’s won not only a BAFTA, but an Emmy as well. He’s the creator, author and artist of the best-selling Bunny Suicides cartoon books series, co-wrote the Ardman animated film, The Pirates!, and has his cartoons featured in Private Eye. Expect hilarious micro-stories and laughs aplenty from a man involved in some of the greatest comedies EVER!

James Domestic
Domestic has been wowing crowds across the country with his quirky, poignant, and often hilarious observations on the minutiae of everyday life. With several books to his name, he’s supported poetry legends such as Luke Wright, Attila the Stockbroker and Mark Grist, and has received plaudits from poets and musicians alike. He’s regularly compared to John Cooper Clarke, Ivor Cutler, Benjamin Zephaniah, Spike Milligan, and Ian Dury.

Leon The Poet
Leon The Poet has been making a name for himself on the East Anglian scene with his sometimes tender, and often amusing words. His debut collection of poetry, ‘Sometimes I’m The Bull, Sometimes I’m The China Shop’, takes a big swing at life in the twenty-twenties.

Laura Bradley
A star in the making! Laura – by her own admission – dresses like a toddler, but is a high calibre performer of words that’ll make you think and most likely snort with laughter.
