Mendelssohn’s Ruy Blas Overture | Bruch’s First Violin Concerto | Dvorak’s Fifth Symphony

“Celebrating their return to the venue Sudbury Symphony Orchestra will be performing Bruch’s iconic First Violin Concerto with one of London’s top violin soloists Michael Foyle.  Sudbury Symphony Orchestra say “its very unlikely a better violinist will have ever walked the streets of Sudbury so it is really exciting that he will be performing here in this venue.  Michael is normally heard playing with top London and European orchestras so the orchestra is a little awestruckMichael is a change to the originally booked soloist Mathilde Milwidsky.   In addition to the Bruch there is Mendelssohn’s dramatic and fun Ruy Blas overture (pronounced Ree Blass) and Dvorak’s 5th Symphony – a seriously pretty work.

Bruch’s mesmerising First Violin Concerto is a star piece in this concert with international soloist, Michael Foyle.  The warm up piece is Mendessohn’s Ruy Blas Overture, and ending with Dvorak’s Symphony No. 5.

Tickets for this concert are available directly from Sudbury Symphony Orchestra via the booking link and in person from the Tourist Information Centre in Sudbury Town Hall and Peddars shop in Sudbury.
